About the Illustrator
Tuua Tulisalmi is an internationally acclaimed Finnish artist and writer. Her style is influenced by the opulence of 19-century aesthetic movements as well as the vibrence of Disney's Renaissance and Experimental eras. She is self-taught and has been mastering her art since childhood.
She loves scented candles as much as she hates AI.
Tuua's upcoming graphic novel series, My Friend, My Beloved, is a swashbuckling steampunk adventure about a young monarch whose leadership is called into question. A secret society of rebels threatens her family. Most frightening of all is her discovery of how the ruling class has abused its citizens.
Amidst all this, she finds herself falling in love with the one man who has ever treated her with genuine, selfless care: Adam Walters, a commoner—and her father's best friend.
But as their story unfolds, it becomes less clear who they can trust—or whether they can even trust each other.
My Friend, My Beloved balances humor, "kisses-only" romance, mystery and action in a masterful way. The pilot comic is free to read on Webcomic Studio, but it barely scratches the surface of the lore and complex plot Tuua is currently weaving together. Seriously, if my stories tickle your fancy, hers will as well.
Stay up-to-date with Tuua, Princess Booma and Adam Walters:
